Wendy-Myra Tipper formerly trained in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter at Toye, Kenning & Spencer, holders of a Royal Warrant to HM Queen Elizabeth II during Wendy’s time there and to HM King Charles III today.
The Rusty Kiln blends centuries-old craftsmanship with contemporary passion.
Wendy specialises in miniature pet portraits hand painted onto vitreous enamel and each jewellery piece celebrates the bond between animals and their owners.
It also celebrates the legacy left by Wendy’s father, Worcester artist the late Graham Payne.
The Rusty Kiln name is a tribute to Wendy’s enamelling kiln. Purchased as a used item in 1980’s it is 50 years old, now wears a coat of rust but burns as brightly as ever. Every piece created passes through this kiln - a symbol for endurance, heritage and the beauty that comes from things that last.
Why not commission a portrait like this? 18x13mm silver pendant and chain. Portrait with name in enamel on copper, cold set into the stirling silver pendant cup.
